What Our Users Have To Say
FooBox FAQ
What is FooBox?
FooBox is a responsive WordPress lightbox plugin. This means that it can open images, videos, and HTML content in a lightbox above the webpage. In other words, your visitors don’t leave the page they’re visiting. Instead, a new, separate box opens above that page to display the image form or other files. It will just popup over the content they were viewing, giving them a closer look at the data they wanted to focus on.
What can I do with FooBox?
At its most basic, FooBox allows you to open images and visual files in a lightbox. This opens like a box or window above the gallery or page content, without navigating away from that page. Having a lightbox presents you with the opportunity to showcase your images, videos, and other visual data more effectively. It’s a user-friendly practice that does not disturb their experience with your website.
Lightbox features are particularly useful with touch screen devices, as well as smaller monitors. Thanks to this WordPress plugin, your users will be able to display data more clearly and efficiently, without worrying about the screen size. FooBox also supports the zoom function directly in the popup window that opens upon clicking.
But FooBox has other uses as well. With FooBox Pro, you can add HTML to your new lightbox. This allows you to open Youtube and Vimeo videos, galleries, forms, iFrames, and more, all in FooBox.

Is FooBox easy to use?
Yes. FooBox works out of the box, so there isn’t any setup or configuration required. If you want to experiment with the various elements of this WordPress plugin, however, you are more than welcome to. The settings, just like the lightbox function itself, are user-friendly and allow you to configure data and files as well as other elements, in a way that works for you and your website.
FooBox PRO does come with additional themes and color options. To make the most of these, you would need to adjust the settings. But we’ve kept them simple and easy to use. FooBox is a plugin designed to improve user experience with images they come across online, so it would only make sense to make this tool as accessible and responsive as possible.

My site is mobile-friendly. Will FooBox work on it?
Yes; FooBox is a responsive lightbox. In other words, it scales the image automatically to fit the screen on which that data is being viewed. If you’re on a phone or tablet, the image will scale down to fit the screen. This means FooBox is a mobile-friendly lightbox, which is an important consideration for any website and digital gallery. It’s also compatible with any browser.
Having responsive lightbox functionality is slowly becoming a must if you want to maintain a successful and profitable online presence, especially in the areas of e-commerce, photography, and any other project that has anything to do with visual data. This includes videos, as well. If you plan to embed a lot of YouTube content on your website or blog, using lightbox plugins is the best option.
The increasing popularity of responsive lightbox functions in the digital sphere has led to a rise of plenty of open-source plugins, such as Magnific Popup or, you guessed it — FooBox.
Why do I need a lightbox?
There are many benefits to using a lightbox plugin. A responsive lightbox plugin allows your users to view a full-size image without having to navigate away from the site. At the same time, you don’t have to use up precious page real estate by including the full-size image. You can simply use a thumbnail, which opens into the bigger picture.
Likewise, using a lightbox for forms, iFrames, videos, and other content, ensures your users get the most from your site without having to open new pages or navigate away. Plus, a lightbox is a great way to include slideshows on your site. It’s also a good option for embedding YouTube content on your site in a manner that is most convenient for your users, without forcing them to leave your domain.
Responsive lightbox plugins, such as FooBox, have provided users with an easier way to zoom in on content on their touch devices, straight from their browser. Media viewing has never been this easy! Add lightbox functionality to your website, if you want to experience an influx of new users and embed YouTube links, locally-hosted images, and other visual data in a quick and intuitive manner.
How much does FooBox cost?
FooBox is free. It is available for download from WordPress at no cost. Simply download, install and start using it. The free option comes with all that is necessary to create a high-quality image without paying a cent for it!
The premium version of FooBox comes in 3 plans, starting at just $3.99 a month, or $29 a year. Although the free version may serve you just fine, the premium one allows you to use more advanced, top-shelf lightbox features and give you more freedom in terms of how you want to add lightbox functionality to your website.
What’s the difference between FooBox Free and FooBox PRO?
FooBox Free is a simple WordPress lightbox plugin. It works out of the box and opens your visual data in a responsive lightbox. It works with WordPress websites and displays image captions.
But for additional features and advanced customization, FooBox PRO is a better option. It comes with over 85 custom options, including the two PRO themes and five different colors. With FooBox PRO you can add video or HTML content to your lightbox. You can use the slideshow function. Plus there is WooCommerce Product Image Support. It will provide you with all of the popup window functions you could possibly need, and improve your website or gallery even further!

If you’re using FooBox as an addition to FooGallery, then you may also want to consider the FooGallery PRO Lightbox. This comes built into FooGallery PRO, so it doesn’t work as a standalone lightbox. But to get an idea if this is right for you, take a look at our lightbox comparison.
