We are extremely excited to announce the imminent release of version 2.0 of FooBox, our flagship product and the best responsive lightbox plugin for WordPress.
This post is the first of a few that will announce what’s coming in version 2.0, and is also intended as an invite to you to become a beta tester (see end of post).
Here we go…
Retina Ready Font Icons
If you’re not quite sure why this is a big deal, let me explain. Using font icons instead of images gives you complete control over the display and customization of the various icons included with FooBox. They also become much crisper and clearer on your mobile devices.
Here are a few things you’ll be able to do with a few simple CSS tweaks in our Custom CSS settings area:
- Change the size
- Change the color
- Add shadows
- Change opacity
- Add strokes, gradients, textures, and more.
This makes the customization and design possibilities truly endless. Perfect for giving your clients (and yourself) the exact look and feel you need.
FooBox currently ships with “Icon Sets” and “Color Schemes”. We’re enhancing these choices with the inclusion of several new “Themes”. The image above shows just one version of one of the included themes named Metro.
FooBox themes are intended to be pre-packaged choices in order to streamline your customization process. All themes are based directly on user-feedback over the past year, so we’re confident you’ll find one that fits very closely to what your design demands.
Two More Feature Announcements Coming
We’ll be publishing another post in a couple of weeks with two more major features that users have been asking for since day one. Building these features was no easy task, especially knowing the long list of features FooBox v2 had in store.
But they’re almost here, and will solidify FooBox’s place as the best responsive lightbox plugin available anywhere. I know that’s a bold statement, but I just said it;)
